“A person should set his goals as early as he can and devote all his energy and talent to getting there. With enough effort, he may achieve it. Or he may find something that is even more rewarding. But in the end, no matter what the outcome, he will know he has been alive.” - Walt Disney

Waking Up is Hard to Do...

"...They say that wakin' u-u-up is ha-a-rd to do-o.  Now I know, I know that it's true-u... " Sing it to the tune of the oldies song "Breakin' Up is Hard to Do."  Get it?  Okay, it's a stretch, I know.

I'm now in my third week of getting up early on weekdays to run/cross train.  And it's going well.  Getting dressed, getting on the treadmill, and getting started is getting easier!  What isn't getting easier?  Waking up and getting out of bed.  I still have to give myself  little pep talk and force myself to get moving.  I'm fine once I'm up, but there's definitely an internal struggle going on while lying down.

Anyway, besides the trouble getting out of bed, it's going really well.  I feel great when I'm done, and have a good feeling of accomplishment already - even at 6am!

Today's stats:
  • 10 min warm-up walk
  • 35 min run; 2.68 mi; 13:04 mm avg pace
